Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Beach Passport website ("Site"), operated by Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not accept these terms, you must not use this Site.

Beach Passport - QANTAS Points Giveaway Full Terms & Conditions

A). Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these conditions of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these conditions of entry. Entry is made when participant completes the Surf Life Saving Australia - Beach Passport and provides the required personal information.

B). The Promoter is Surf Life Saving Australia LTD ABN 67 449 738 159 of Level 1 / 1 Notts Ave, Bondi Beach, NSW 2026.

C). Entry is open to all permanent Australian residents over the age of 18 years who fulfill the entry requirements. Employees and their immediate families of Surf Life Saving Australia, Qantas and suppliers, providers and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible. The promotion commences 9:00 AM AEDT Monday17 November 2025 and concludes at 5:00 PM AEDT on Thursday, 30 April, 2026.

D). To enter the promotion, participants must:

1) Participants must complete the online Beach Passport coastal safety training course from Surf Life Saving Australia between 17th November 2025 at 9.00am and 30th April 2026 at 5:00pm AEDT.

     2) Entrants must retain their proof of completion be in the draw;

     3) Agree to receive email communications from Surf Life Saving Australia

     4) Be over the age of 18 years on the date on entry

Secondary prizes (150 points per person)

1)  Participants must complete the online Beach Passport coastal safety training course from Surf Life Saving Australia between 17th November 2025 at 9.00am and 30 April 2026 at 5:00pm AEDT.

2) Entrants must be Qantas Frequent Flyer member to earn and use Qantas Points. A joining fee may apply. Membership and points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program Terms and Conditions.

3) Only Qantas Frequent Flyer members that have completed the Surf Lifesaving Australia Beach Passport and have entered their details including Qantas Frequent Flyer number by 30 April 2026 are eligible to be awarded 150 Qantas Points. The Qantas Frequent Flyer members full legal name and email address must match the name registered on their Qantas Frequent Flyer account. Qantas Points will be fulfilled within 8 weeks post the competition of the Beach Passport course.

Major Prize 1 Million points

1. There is one prize of 1,000,000 Qantas Points (Prize). Qantas Points may take up to 8 weeks to be credited to the winner’s account from the draw date (or any redraw date, as applicable).

The prize draw will occur at 10:10 AM AEDT 12 May 2026 and the winner will be announced via social media, and email within 7 days of the draw.

2. Draw will be conducted in the presence of an independent scrutineer at the Surf Life Saving Australia Foundation, 190 Montpelier Road, Bowen Hills, QLD 400.

3. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

4. The winner will be notified via email within 7 days of the competition prize draw. The Promoter's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

5. The winner will be announced within 7 days of the draw and will be contacted directly via email by Surf Life Saving Australia. The winners details, including last name, first initial and postcode will be published online at Surf Life Saving Australia (https://www.sls.com.au) within 7 days of the draw. By participating in this promotion, the prize winner consents to their information being shared and/or displayed on public channels, without notice.

6. The total prize pool of the competition is 1 million Qantas Points.

7. If the winner is not already a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, membership to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, normally valued at $99.50, will be included in their Prize. To accept this part of the Prize, the winner must not already be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program, and must complete the standard join process including agreeing to the Terms and Conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program (available at Qantas.com/terms). 

8. The first valid entry drawn will receive one million (1,000,000) Qantas Points to be awarded to their Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 45 days of the winner being notified

9. The maximum notional value of the Prize is AU$40,870 based on a sample of the Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards that could be obtained by redeeming through the Qantas Frequent Flyer program (as fully defined in the terms and conditions of the program available at qantas.com/terms. For example, 9,200 Qantas Points could be redeemed for a Flex one way Economy Classic Flight Reward from Melbourne to Sydney plus AU$57 in applicable taxes, fees and carrier charges, accurate as at 30 October 2025. The dollar fare for an equivalent commercial flight totals AU$433 including taxes fees and carrier charges. 

10. The estimate of the maximum notional value of the Prize is provided for information purposes only. The maximum notional value of the Prize will vary depending on whether and how it is redeemed by a winner through the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. The Promoters accept no responsibility for any variation in the maximum notional value of the Prize.

11. The Prize is awarded and must be redeemed, in accordance with and subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program (Qantas.com/terms), the Qantas Store Terms of Use (Qantas.com/store), voucher terms and conditions (including expiry rules) if relevant, and any other terms and conditions disclosed at the time of redemption.

12. The redemption of the Prize is subject to the availability of Rewards that may be obtained through the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.

13. The prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated. Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services.  A prize cannot be transferred to any other person, unless agreed to by the Promoter.  It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner accepts the conditions of use of that prize.

14. If the prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.

15. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable for cash, unless otherwise specified.

16. The winner may be required to take part in related publicity, including participation in ad- hoc media or social media activity with print and broadcast media with reasonable advance notice.

17. Entrants consent to the Promoter and Qantas Airways Limited using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter as relevant to the competition.

18. By entering the competition, the winner agrees that their entry can be posted on the Surf Life Saving Australia website, on its X, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok and Facebook pages, and related Surf Life Saving Australia and its Foundation online/social media platforms. By entering the competition, the winner agrees that their entry or images may be used by Surf Life Saving Australia as they wish without prior notice to the winner.

19. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter or Qantas Airways Limited, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.

20. Any cost associated with accessing the promotional website/associated services is the entrant's responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.

21. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the Australian Consumer Law or similar consumer protection laws in the State and Territories of Australia ("Non-Excludable Guarantees"). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non- Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter and Qantas Airways Limited (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.

22. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter and Qantas Airways Limited (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter or Qantas Airways Limited’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) use of a prize.

23. The Promoter(s) collects personal information in order to conduct the promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to Qantas Airways Limited, agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. Entrants should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct information to the Promoter. All entries become the property of the Promoter.

24. In the event the prize is unclaimed, an unclaimed prize draw will occur in the presence of an independent scrutineer at the same time and location as the original draw on 17 September 2026. The unclaimed prize winner will be notified via email and published at https://www.sls.com.au within 7 days of the unclaimed prize draw date.
